This Privacy Policy explains what information English Shadowing with Temmy ("the App", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and how it is used, when you use our mobile application or website (englishshadowingwithtemmy.com).
Information We Collect
- Account information: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, in order to identify your account and save your progress.
- Usage and progress data: We store which episodes you have listened to, your listening progress, and leaderboard/achievement statistics, so that you can resume where you left off and track your learning progress.
- Push notification token: If you enable notifications, your device receives a notification token used solely to deliver "new episode" alerts to your device, in the language you have selected in the app.
- Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage (such as which screens are used, how often the app is opened) to help us improve the app. This data is aggregated and not used to personally identify you beyond what is described above.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain core app functionality (saving your listening progress, leaderboard, account sign-in).
- To send you notifications about new episodes, if you have enabled this feature.
- To understand and improve how the app is used.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore Database, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Hosting, Cloud Functions) — Google Privacy Policy
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. Any sponsor/advertising content you may hear is embedded directly within the episode audio file itself and does not involve any data collection by an ad network.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide the services described above (e.g., Google Firebase, which processes data on our behalf).
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address below.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
